Stonepanel Stone Cladding

Overview
Cherry Pie Meadow is a development of 36 new homes in Sparkford, Somerset delivered by developer Lovell Partnerships. With a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes, the site includes 12 affordable properties in partnership with LiveWest housing association. Located in a rural area, the development has created much needed housing and was able to offer local jobs and apprenticeships during its construction.
Taylor Maxwell worked with Lovell Partnerships to supply Stonepanel stone cladding, manufactured by Cupa Stone, to the new build homes. The stone cladding sits within a simple palette, bringing a traditional warmth amongst more contemporary materials.
Concept to completion
It was important to the developers that the buildings would blend into the surrounding landscape, taking reference from the local context, whilst still having their own distinct identity and architectural design. Stonepanel stone cladding in ‘Nordic’ was selected for the homes, mirroring stone types common on housing and walling within the locality.
As well as providing the visual benefit of tying in with the surrounding architectural language, the stone cladding offered quick installation. Stonepanel can be installed up to 10 times faster than traditional walling stone, significantly reducing overall time on site and construction costs. This was a huge benefit to the project team, with the Stonepanel featuring heavily across the development, both on homes and garden walls.
The finished buildings are a thoughtfully balanced mix of contemporary and traditional design, bringing much needed housing to the area. The Stonepanel cladding is a striking addition to the facades, creating a contrast against the white render and timber which has also been used.
