Overview

Blenheim Green, located in Kings Hill, Kent, is a residential development by Bellway Homes, comprising a mix of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom freehold houses. The wider Kings Hill development began in 1989 on the former RAF West Malling site and has since evolved into a well-established village, now home to more than 3,300 completed residences. At its Aviation Park site, Bellway Homes is delivering a total of 542 properties across five separate developments, with Blenheim Green being one of the larger sites offering 140 new homes.

Taylor Maxwell worked with Bellway Homes to supply Hardie® Plank fibre cement cladding to the Blenheim Green development. The cladding features on the facades of the Drogue, Hurricane, Spitfire, Torque and Voyager house types.

Concept to completion

Bellway Homes sought to create high-quality homes that reflected the local architectural character, using a variety of house designs to introduce visual interest and establish distinct identities across the development.

Hardie® Plank fibre cement cladding was specified for five of the house styles, as a durable and non-combustible alternative to natural timber, whilst maintaining consistency with the established aesthetic of Kings Hill and the surrounding area. Manufactured by James Hardie, Hardie® Plank is a popular choice for housing developers due to its A2 fire rating, BBA certification (04/4147) and low maintenance requirements. With an estimated service life of more than 30 years, it offers significant advantages over natural timber cladding, which can be vulnerable to moisture and pest damage.

Now complete, Blenheim Green provides residents with access to a thriving and welcoming community, supported by a wide range of local amenities. Its proximity to the M20 motorway and a nearby train station makes it an ideal location for commuters seeking the balance of rural living with convenient access to London.
