FSC™ Forest Week 2022

The Forest Stewardship Council is an international, non-governmental organisation that implements strict principles to ensure that sustainable forest management is globally undertaken. More than 200 million hectares of forest are managed to FSC standards around the world.

There are 10 principles that forest operations must adhere to achieve certification including high conservation values, workers’ rights, and monitoring environmental and social impacts to ensure environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable forest management. Through chain of custody certification supply chain integrity is maintained all the way from the forest to the market.

The aim of FSC Forest Week 2022 is to raise consumer awareness of sustainable forestry and responsible consumption. We are joining forces with FSC to showcase the important work they do to ensure sustainable practices and celebrate our forests, in the hope that consumers will be more mindful of choosing sustainably sourced products.

We ensure all our products are responsibly sourced and FSC-certified where possible, as well as prioritising working with organisations that support sustainable practices, to make sure we take care of our forests for future generations.

By supporting FSC’s campaign we hope to bring the necessary continued attention to our forests. Globally, climate change is at the forefront of business and personal concern, with forests as one of the most important factors in regulating our output. It is our duty to consider this at each stage of the supply chain. The FSC highlight that according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), by ‘restoring and sustainably managing the world’s forest’ we can remove all carbon emitted by the world’s oil usage.
