Overview

To work with key suppliers and stakeholders to sell an agreed product range to the existing customer base and to develop new business throughout a defined region.

This position is full time, permanent (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday).

Detail 

  • Generate new and manage existing business within a defined area
  • Identify and target new accounts as per company objectives and KPIs
  • Maintain and develop existing accounts in line with KPIs
  • Manage key accounts within the region
  • Respond to all customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Effectively manage customer database
  • Complete all trip reports in a timely manner and in line with the Company minimum standards
  • Effective call/trip planning in line with regional strategy and resource
  • Work effectively with the sales support coordinators
  • Ensure that all orders are processed via the sales support coordinators
  • Work with credit control and invoice teams to resolve queries or issues
  • Work closely with suppliers as a key contact
  • Support sales executives in their role and with their development
  • Provide back up to the regional manager
  • Represent the Company at relevant trade organisations and associations
  • Identify mutually beneficial marketing opportunities
  • Analysis of markets to identify sales opportunities
  • Identify and attend targeted hospitality events
  • Any other duty deemed by the management team to be in the interest of achieving the company objectives

Essential 

  • Proven experience in timber or construction products sales
  • Proactive and strategic thinking
  • Valid UK driving license
  • Proficient Microsoft package
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and make correct decisions
  • Organised and good time management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
