Product: Corium   Quantity Supplied: 768m2

With views of Tate Modern towards St Paul’s Cathedral, Hilton Bankside operates under the Hilton Hotels and Resorts brand.

Hilton Bankside plays a large role in the dramatic redevelopment of the Bankside area of London, conveying a sense of contemporary sophistication and quality alongside the local urban context. As Hilton’s first hotel in central London since 2006, the brief was to combine the luxuriousness associated with the brand, with the tone of the site’s urban location and industrial past. This industrial/urban concept marks an important departure for Hilton, embodying a context-specific ethos, rather than a more generic, one-size- fits-all approach often associated with high end hotels.

DMA worked closely with main contractor McGee and interior designer Twenty2Degrees, to ensure that the materials used for both the interior and exterior of this unique structure, reflected the rich industrial heritage that surrounds it.

The building’s facades are clad in a light-coloured Corium brick tile, in keeping with the traditional local London stock bricks, which pays testament to the industrial environment that existed on the site some 80 years ago.

The use of the CORIUM brick cladding system is an ideal solution for this scheme as it provides a high-quality finish that the design brief desired, whilst keeping costs low.
