Introducing Composite Prime Decking

Engineered for durability, ease of installation and sustainability, Composite Decking is making headways in the landscaping sector, with take-up predicted to grow by 100% a year. It is well suited to both domestic and commercial exteriors thanks to its anti-slip properties and natural protection against staining, warping, rot and decay. No treatment is needed and it requires minimal cleaning, reducing maintenance for the end-users.

Our decking is manufactured by Composite Prime and scores highly in Intertek resilience tests due to its advanced composition. It is produced using 60% hardwood flour, 35% recycled plastic and 5% additives that are compressed slowly for enhanced strength. Hollow inner strips also provide inbuilt shock absorption and ensure it is lightweight.

An easy clip installation system also means no screws will be visible on the top surface of the decking, enabling you to create a seamless finish.

Sustainable and flexible

Sustainability lies at the heart of our Composite Decking offer. Composite Prime decking is made from recycled resources and FSC 100% certified wood. For every square metre, we recycle the equivalent of 280 milk bottles or 3,000 caps, which equates to 9,250,000 bottles in just six months. Most of the wood used is offcuts from the flooring trade, adding to the decking’s environmental benefits.

In addition, we offer boards with two colours – one on either side – up to 3.6m in length. The colours available include four wood-effect finishes; Walnut/Oak and Antique/Carbon. This dual-deck design helps you to streamline your stock, as you can offer the full four-colour range using half the amount of boards. We’ll deliver them shrink-wrapped for increased protection against damage, and they come with a 25-year warranty.

HD Deck Dual

For a more traditional, natural timber finish, our HD Deck Dual boards are the perfect choice. The HD Deck Dual provides the look of a traditional deck, coupled with the benefits of the composite material. Using advanced ‘True Grain’ colour mixing technology, the Dual boards are available in two combinations of Walnut/Oak and Carbon/Antique. As each board is dual-coloured, this enables you to form borders or patterns in the deck to create a bespoke finish.

The HD Deck Dual boards are complete with a protective capped outer layer, which gives the board maximum protection against staining and fading. This outer layer means the boards do not require sanding or oiling. The HD Deck Dual comes with a 25-year warranty.

Installation

The installation of the HD Deck XS and the HD Deck Dual is important for the warranty*.

300mm joist centres
Joists should be sent to centres no greater than 300mm to allow the deck to perform to maximum strength.

Do NOT fix with screws
Always use the clips or fitting system provided to secure the deck to the joists. The clips allow the deck to expand and contract down the length of the board.

5mm gap
Allow a 5mm gap at the end of each board to give the deck room to expand. A 3.6m length of deck will expand/contracts by 5mm with a 3º temperature change.

20mm gap
A 20mm gap needs to be left at the board ends when fitting near a solid structure.

Gradient
Allow for a 1 in 100 (1.0%) gradient to allow water to drain off the deck, away from adjoining buildings.

All clips, screws, end caps and fascias can be purchased with the corresponding deck boards and our secret clip systems means the HD Deck XS and Dual can be installed with a clean finish without any visible, unsightly screws. *For full, easy-to-use installation guides, please contact us.
