Overview

We are looking for a Senior Sales Executive to generate and develop new and existing business across a defined region.

The role will involve managing key customer accounts, identifying new sales opportunities and building strong relationships with customers and suppliers. You will also support the wider sales team, contribute to regional strategy and help drive the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business and manage existing customer accounts within a defined area.
  • Identify and target new accounts in line with company objectives and KPIs.
  • Maintain and develop existing accounts in line with agreed KPIs.
  • Manage key accounts across the region.
  • Respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain and effectively manage the customer database.
  • Complete trip reports accurately and within company timescales and minimum standards.
  • Plan customer calls and trips effectively in line with regional strategy and available resources.
  • Work closely and effectively with Sales Support Coordinators.
  • Ensure all customer orders are processed through the Sales Support Coordinators.
  • Work with Credit Control and Invoice teams to resolve customer queries and issues.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers.
  • Support Sales Executives in their roles and contribute to their development.
  • Provide support and cover to the Regional Business Manager when required.
  • Represent the company at relevant trade organisations and industry associations.
  • Identify mutually beneficial marketing opportunities.
  • Analyse markets to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Identify and attend targeted hospitality events.
  • Carry out any other duties reasonably required by the management team in support of company objectives.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven experience in timber product sales.
  • Proactive approach with strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make appropriate decisions.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
