That is the end of another season and also the end of an era for some. The Premier League says goodbye to a few legends with Sir Alex Ferguson, Paul Scholes, Jamie Carragher and Michael Owen all retiring. And let’s not forget David Beckham. There wasn’t much to play for on the last game. It certainly didn’t bring the excitement that we had last year with that Aguero goal in the dying seconds, but this season hasn’t totally been dull. There have been a few surprises this season with the cup winners being Swansea and Wigan. I definitely would not have predicted that at the start of the season. Then there was Suarez who got hungry mid game. He will never fail to shock us and then the dominance of Man Utd and Sir Alex just reminding everyone that Man City still have a bit of work to do to be considered at the same level as their neighbours.
The highest scoring player this week was Lukaku who bagged 28 points. Will he be part of Chelsea’s plans next season? In second was Nolan who scored 27 points and Koscielny took third with 18 points.
The biggest scoring team this week was Dan Thimann (I'm wetter than a S******* chin) who bagged 92 points. Dan Griffin (We All Live In a Perry Groves World) was in second with 82 points and Ryan Chapman (Ryans Merry Men) was third with 81 points.
In the company cup, Mansell took top honours with 59.5 points. Countryside Properties were second with 48 points and Morgan Sindall were third with 45 points.
Well that is it for another season. The weekends just won’t be the same for a while but I suppose football will soon be back. All that is left to do is crown the Champions of the Taylor Maxwell Fantasy Football. That honour goes to:
1st Place- Andy Jackson (The Mutts Nuts)
2nd Place- Liam Stacey (Llama’s Allstars)
3rd Place- Jeremy Attwater (Nut In Ham Forest)
Knockout Cup Champions- Graham King (The Kings Men)
Company Cup Winners- Antler Homes
Well done to all the above. It has been a long season but your players have done you proud. When we get the trophies sorted out we will get your Taylor Maxwell Rep to deliver it to you. Feel free to gloat as you have probably finished above them in the league.
All that is left to say for the 2012-13 is thank you for participating and we look forward to seeing you back in August.
Enjoy the sunshine, when and if it arrives.
